In What Is Awakening? (see Core Learning) we describe awakening as “when a movement of God’s power and love extends far and long enough to spill over into the streets of life and the structures of the social order… Not just an uptick in numbers or a flash of greater zeal, but a far-reaching encounter with God resetting the trajectory of generations” (What is Awakening?, 6).
“How do we sow for a great awakening? We have come to believe that the true seedbed of awakening is the plowed-up hearts of men and women willing to receive the gift of travail. ‘Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy’ (Ps. 126:5)” (How to Pray for Awakening, 9-10).
We believe that praying for awakening is one of the most important actions we can take to partner with the Holy Spirit in seeing a great awakening come to this and succeeding generations.
On the first Thursday of each month, in 2024, we will be gathering on Zoom to pray together for awakening. We’ll review one of the videos from Asbury Outpouring Unpacked, then move to prayer. We would love to have you join us.
